YEP   (Youth Employment Pare)

yep-pare-youth-employment When a Community Service worker was offered to the people of Paremoremo recently we discovered how much work was available in the area, and that people were prepared to pay to get it done.  Being a mother, I know that kids will often work much better for other people than their own parents.  I also know that working for your money is a great ethic to instil in your children.  To this end we are kicking off another project in the Pare area – called YEP.  Here is what it is all about:”

What is YEP?

A scheme where we match willing youth workers in the local community with other local residents who have casual work available.

The type of work may be babysitting, gardening, cleaning etc. Jobs may be one-off or regular.

What we will do:

We will invite students aged from 14 onwards to register their details. We will ask for a parent/caregiver’s permission for students under 18 to register.

We will keep this information strictly private.

We will act as liaison between the parties looking for workers and the students.

We will ask for feedback from both parties.

What we won’t do:

We won’t be involved in any discussions regarding payment. Remuneration is strictly between the two parties.

We won’t be responsible for any matters of safety.  People needing workers must have reasonable expectations of what a student is capable of doing, given their age and experience.

How to register:

Please email on the following link:   yeparemoremo@gmail.com

Students – request a registration form

Employers – give us details of the jobs you have available and the type of people you are looking for.

We look forward to hearing from you.  Rachel
