There’s a number of Paremoremo residents who have a strong interest in creating healthier and more sustainable homes to live in. Throughout the years we have had a number of guest speakers present information and in 2009 a ‘Naturally Smarter Homes’ pilot project was undertaken by the North Shore Council and Barb Cooper. The aim of this project was to find out ways to help home owners focus on existing and possible future sustainable options that would add to the comfort, health and running costs of the home.
Now New Zealand has its own home rating tool, Homestar. Paremoremo also has its own qualified Homecoaches who are available to help local people with their home assessments. Andy Riley and Barb Cooper are both qualified Homecoaches under the government backed home rating scheme.
