Local Groups

Sustainable Pare Meeting Paremoremo’s rural status means there is no public bus route, no shop, no city water supply and no city wastewater treatment. The community has been fortunate to lease the Club building owned by the Department of Corrections. This lease, although temporary, has provided the community with an excellent facility to hold workshops, social functions and gatherings. There is no hall at the school and no central gathering place other than this facility.

Despite the lack of general facilities, the people of Paremoremo have formed strong networks and are always organising activities and events.  The following pages highlight the diversity of interests and groups within the area.
